(goodreads.com)

Opinions: Piper can fly. Her parents want her to stay on the ground, but she can't help it. She loves to fly. But when the town realizes Piper can fly, the government finds out too. So Piper is taken to a special school, but it isn't what she thinks it will be like.
I love that in so many books and stories people don't tell anyone about their supernatural powers so that they don't get locked in a government facility. Yet this book is the exact opposite and Piper gets locked in a government facility. It is an interesting read about embracing your exceptionalism and not getting squashed down into something "normal" or someone else's version of normal. It is a thoughtful book and I very much enjoyed it.
